Raasay
Simple youth hostel in a stunning setting on the Isle of Raasay, a short ferry crossing away from the Isle of Skye. It is a Nature Conservancy area of extreme importance for bird watchers, botanists, geologists and archaeologists. Keep an eye out for otters, seals, porpoises, red deer and golden eagles. Walkers and cyclists enjoy unrestricted roads and paths all over the island. Also worth a visit are Brochel Castle and the Raasay Outdoor Activity centre. For those who want to really find out about the history of this island, be sure to ask a local about ‘Calum’s Road’.
