17th century lead miner's cottage in the peaceful valley of Mohope Burn. In the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this Youth Hostel allows you to explore secluded countryside and wild moorland, both of which are rich in wildlife, flora and fauna and industrial archaeology. On the Sea-to-Sea cycle route and close to Kilhope Wheel lead mining centre. Dining room/lounge has stone floors and oak beams with an open fire and views across the valley. Kitchen leads onto the dining room/lounge. Washer/dryer and separate tumble dryer are provided. Electric heaters throughout. YHA staff are resident in adjacent building. Parking is on roadside for cars and a minibus.
